Where we get it
How we use it
We use the personal information we collect to:
We will not collect additional categories of personal information, or use what we collect for materially different or unrelated purposes, without telling you first.
Who we share it with
We may disclose personal information to third parties for a business purpose. Each one is bound by a contract that describes the purpose and requires them to keep the information confidential and use it only to perform the contract. The categories of recipients are:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising [confirm: if we use advertising pixels or remarketing tools, we may be "sharing," and we must add a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link and honor opt-out signals].
Other California privacy rights
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83) lets California residents ask for information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make a request, email Marketing@sfcjl.org.
Health information
The Websites are not a place to share patient health information. Do not send medical records, diagnoses, insurance numbers or similar details through our forms or by general email. Health information we receive as a healthcare provider, for example when someone is admitted to our programs, is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices and federal and California health privacy laws, not under this policy. If you need to share health information before admission, call the program you are working with so we can arrange a secure way to do it.
Cookies, analytics and Do Not Track
The Websites use cookies and similar tools to make pages work, remember your preferences and understand how the Websites are used such as Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as a result. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for it, Websites do not currently respond to those signals.
Children
The Websites are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, but no website or transmission over the internet is completely secure. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law.
Links to other sites
The Websites may link to other sites, including those of partners and affiliates. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time. When we do, we will post the new version on the Websites and change the effective date above. If we make a material change to how we use personal information, we will tell you in a clear way, such as through a notice on the Websites or an email to subscribers. Continuing to use the Websites after changes are posted means you accept them.
